With a worldwide release on all streaming platforms starting today, the musician’s second album is now revealed with the second single, “Neck Up,” following the earlier release of “Sunset Love.” The track was produced by Tayob J., with the music video directed by Ana Viotti.

After launching his solo career in 2021, MIRZA now explores new horizons with an EP that showcases the maturity of his powerful voice. The tracks transcend borders, inviting listeners to dance to the rhythm of nostalgic R&B, while delivering lyrics in Portuguese. With newfound confidence and fear left far behind, MIRZA is the missing name on playlists that evoke subtlety, romantic uncertainties, and delayed forgiveness.

In addition to his distinct voice, the musician brings in special collaborations on this EP. The rapper King Reapa and the compelling words of “Poeta da Cidade” are featured in the second volume, adding new layers of depth and sensitivity to the artist’s work.

MIRZA Lauchand is also preparing for the live debut of his new material, set to take place on November 6th at 8 Marvila, a new venue in Lisbon. The show is scheduled for 9:00 PM, and tickets are still available through MEO Blueticket.

“Neck Up” Lyrics:

I’m just trying to get know you better
I wanna go deep on your thoughts
No I’m not just trying to undress ya
Tonight I just wanna talk

Tell me what you like what into
Let me undress your mind I wanna feel you
From the neck up…From the neck up

Brain so good, wanna put a ring on it
You can do the talk, I just wanna hear
you teach so much, damn girl you got it
You’re like a great book I wanna learn

Tell me what you like what into
Let me undress your mind I wanna feel you
From the neck up…From the neck up

Tell me what you like what into
Let me undress your mind I wanna feel you
From the neck up…From the neck up

Artist Bigoraphy:

The mixture of his name takes us on a journey… The almost evident French sound of the surname Lauchand adds urbanity, but also sobriety, or perhaps a certain refinement. But it’s when we call him by his first name that we realize we are dealing with something pure, with someone from the entire world for the entire world. Mirza carries with him a musicality that never exhausts itself in the simplicity (sometimes banality) of lyrics, but rather fills up through very cosmopolitan, intense, and painfully truthful melodies.

From his hands, and feet that have trodden various continents, comes a natural author. He weaves his life and the lives of others into an open dance floor. A rhythm he brings from Mozambique, his home country, which he left as a child in 1998. Portugal became his safe harbor as he faced the challenge of growing up in a different place, in Europe, which gave him the rest of the inspiration he needed.

An entrepreneur, he founded Outbraves, the group of brave pupils with rap on the microphone. He grew up in Pupilos do Exército, and this perhaps developed in him a unique way of managing his strengths. Almost ten years later, he found spirituality in Gospel Collective, the gospel ensemble where the potential of his voice is a flag always raised.

In fact, it was because of his penetrating voice that he was discovered. Already in the college corridors, he wouldn’t stop singing, and a colleague told him about upcoming auditions. It was easy! In the test, he sang a little-known song from MTV’s reality show “Making the Band,” and soon enough, he had gained direct access to a new world. In essence, they had chosen each other.

There, he reconnected with the Black music he had left in African lands, found his dream, and the right path. He began to look into the eyes of full audiences on stages like Cinema São Jorge, CCB, or Aula Magna. Or at festivals such as Rock in Rio, Belém Art Fest, or even in Belgium, at the Gent Festival.

The blessing of gospel also brought him new sensations when he joined Soul Gospel in 2012, and together they performed the musical “Oh Happy Days” at Teatro Villaret in Lisbon. His journey also included sharing microphones with Bernardo Sassetti, Dengaz, L1NK, Legendary Tiger Man, NBC, Matay, or with Da Chick and Selma Uamusse.

He was a semi-finalist in TVI’s latest talent show “All Together Now,” and the path ahead opened up to this and much more. The reaction to his penetrating voice was immediate, and he was more than prepared for what came next to our ears. “Far Away” is his first original track as a solo artist, and he seems closer than ever.

Next came “The Funk” and “Dear God” as the complements to an impactful and disturbing first EP. Also from his humane, humanist, and painful side, Híbrido Vol. 1 was born in late 2021, with his story speaking to us in whispers. First to our conscience, then to our hearts. ”Dear God” was also nominated for the International Portuguese Music Awards in the People’s Choice Awards category.

In the meantime, he was part of Grada Kilomba’s theatrical performance “O Barco,” traveling to Germany for an international performance.

Now, the new volume of his EP is here. It must be listened to closely and openly, just as MIRZA sings back to us.
