Rising melodic rapper KiD88 has officially released his debut EP All This Weight, now available on all major streaming platforms. Alongside the project, KiD88 has also dropped the cinematic visual for “Mile Runner,” a standout track that encapsulates the raw emotion and triumphant energy of the project.
Born Henry Chukwurah in Lagos, Nigeria and raised in Bellflower, California, 20-year-old KiD88 is quickly proving himself to be one of the most dynamic emerging voices in hip-hop. Fusing melodic rap with rock, Afrobeats, and emotional trap soul, he defines his sound as “international,” refusing to be confined to any one genre.
All This Weight is more than just a debut—it’s a statement. Across five tracks, KiD88 dives deep into the universal human experience, tackling themes of faith, love, heartbreak, self-doubt, and inner strength. “These are emotions we all go through,” he says. “Whether you’re losing someone, believing in yourself during hard times, or trying to stay strong—this EP is a mirror of what life feels like.”
The newly released video for “Mile Runner,” directed by Nick Welch, brings the track’s message of resilience and drive to life. With powerful visuals and a performance-driven storyline, the video reflects the emotional push-and-pull of chasing something greater—despite the weight that life puts on your shoulders.
Inspired by the freestyling genius of Juice WRLD and spiritually guided by his faith, mother, and Prophet Lovy, KiD88’s music comes from a deeply personal place. “God used the quiet of the Covid lockdown to open the door for me,” he says, reflecting on his start creating music through GarageBand with a pair of earbuds. Since then, he’s collaborated with artists like Li Rye, Jahkai, and Foolie (known for “Maserati” featuring YNW Melly), all while honing a voice that resonates with vulnerability, confidence, and spiritual depth.
With more releases coming throughout the summer and a clear vision to hit stages and connect with fans in 2025, KiD88 is up next. His ability to translate real-life struggle into genre-defying sound makes All This Weight more than a debut—it’s a mission.

Artist Biography:
Born Henry Chukwurah on July 4, 2004, in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in Bellflower, California, KiD88 is a melodic rapper, genre-blurring songwriter, and emerging voice in the new wave of hip-hop. At just 20 years old, he’s already carving out a lane that feels personal, powerful, and impossible to box in.
Originally more focused on basketball than music, KiD88’s journey into becoming an artist began during the Covid lockdowns, when a friend encouraged him to try making songs on GarageBand. What started with earbuds and makeshift setups quickly turned into a calling. “Music has always been part of my life,” he says. “I played piano and trumpet as a kid, but I never took it seriously—until God used the quiet of quarantine to open the door.”
Inspired by the emotional freestyles of Juice WRLD and guided spiritually by faith, his mother, and Prophet Lovy, KiD88 blends vulnerability with confidence, often wrapping his bars around themes of faith, love, heartbreak, and growth. He describes his sound as “international”—a melting pot of emo-rap, trap, melodic hip-hop, rock, and Afrobeats. “Not a single miss,” he says confidently. “I’m proud to say I am the meaning of an artist. I can genuinely do it all.”
This versatility shines through on his debut EP, All This Weight—a five-track reflection of the emotional load we all carry. It’s a vulnerable body of work that moves through moments of doubt, joy, heartbreak, and resilience. Each track dives into deeply human emotions: from wrestling with faith and depression to rediscovering self-worth and love. “These are feelings we all go through,” says KiD88. “It’s not just music—it’s a mirror of life.”
He’s already collaborated with names like Li Rye, Jahkai, and Foolie (known for the hit “Maserati” featuring YNW Melly), and he’s just getting started. With a goal of touching stages and hearts in 2025, KiD88 isn’t just releasing songs—he’s building a movement rooted in emotion, honesty, and connection.
As the summer heats up, so does his release schedule. With more music on the way and a clear vision in mind, KiD88 is up next—not just as a rapper, but as a voice for this generation’s highs, lows, and everything in between.
