Today, Queens firebrand Poiison shares a brand-new visual for “Stupid,” a simmering heater from her latest mixtape, La Madrina Vol. 2. The single blends her signature melodies with moody horns and skittering hi-hats as she sounds off about her fast-paced lifestyle. In the video, Poiison moves from sticky flexes (“Vegetarian, you know I’m wearing all these carrots/I need more, I gotta have it”) to pure performance, making it abundantly clear that money is the motive.

The “Stupid” music video further extends Poiison’s winning streak, following the recent announcement of her stint as an opener on Shordie Shordie’s “Schools Out Tour.” The crowd favorite will join the tour as a special guest in select cities, kicking off with the New York show next month. This also builds on the momentum Poiison garnered from shutting down several stages at SXSW earlier this year – a testament to her ever-growing hunger.

La Madrina Vol. 2, out now, is the second installment of a project rooted in nostalgia, a return to Poiison’s freestyle era. Spanning 13 tracks, the mixtape also serves as a special treat to her most engaged fans. Vol. 2 harkens back to where it all started – the platform that helped launch Poiison’s career: SoundCloud.

Over the past year, Poiison’s work has garnered support from The Source, On The Radar, and Hot 97 just to name a few, recognizing her unique blend of hip-hop, melodic rap, R&B and Latin influences. As Poiison continues to build momentum organically across platforms while celebrating her roots and deep connection to Queens, her trajectory reflects both a dedicated independent spirit and growing recognition from music communities alike.

Check out the “Stupid” music video above and stay tuned for more from Poiison coming soon.

Artist Biography:

Poiison is an innovative artist and songwriter from Queens, NY, bending genres and expectations with a sound that fuses melodic hip-hop, Latin rap, and R&B into something unmistakably her own. A proud product of New York City, Poiison has already carved out a powerful lane, opening for 50 Cent, touring with Shordie Shordie, and recently wrapping a 6-city run with Kevin Gates. Her collaborations span respected names across the culture, including Styles P, 2Rare, Fergie Baby, Cash Cobain, Sha Money XL, and more. Her artistry traces back to the church pews she sat in with her mother, where her curiosity for instruments and sound first took root. She was also inspired by her sister who was a professional drummer. By fifth grade, she was commanding school stages and igniting audiences—early flashes of the presence she carries today. That spark has since grown into a dedicated fan base and a touring force and solidified her as an artist with real pull, conviction, and connection. In 2025, she delivered two standout EPs—Pretty Pain and Love Money Art—each reflecting her duality: vulnerable yet bold, melodic yet raw, feminine with a sharpened street edge. Pulling inspiration from icons like Madonna, Sade, Rick James, and Lil Wayne, Poiison channels a wide musical palette into a distinct, addictive sound that sits confidently outside the mold. Looking ahead, 2026 will mark a defining new chapter with La Madrina Vol. 2—a bilingual collection of originals and reimagined covers over some of hip-hop’s most iconic beats—setting the stage for what promises to be her most impactful year yet.
