Layered with cinematic shots, Milwaukee firebrand DC The Don showcases his carefree side in new “GET NAKED” video. Set against a desert backdrop, viewers are taken on a sonic journey that’s brought to life by director Danny Kirchner. By the end of the video, it’s abundantly clear that the rap rockstar’s latest gem is poised to become an instant summer favorite.
Fueled by heavy-hitting bass and unapologetic swagger, the song creates a feeling of nostalgia with an interpolation of the iconic “Hollaback Girl” hook. “GET NAKED,” out now, was an instant success with both fans and media alike earning praise from HotNewHipHop, Vibe Magazine, and more.
The new single follows March’s “BACK ROAD SWANGIN” and arrives in the wake of the “MELODY OF A MEMORY Tour” with Eem Triplin & 76Tutes. The 28-date run made landfall in major markets across the country and is now gearing up for the final leg of the tour before wrapping in New York June 13.
Leading up to the release, DC The Don previewed “GET NAKED” live during his show last month, building on the momentum he’s already created with the myriad of social media snippets that have surfaced online, accumulating over 25M+ impressions and 1.5M+ streams since releasing on May 16th. Artist Biography:
DC The Don creates without borders. The Milwaukee-born, LA-based rapper is one of the most creatively daring artists in hip-hop today. His genre-blurring discography presents a spectrum of ever-changing sounds, anchored by DC’s precise and direct delivery. For him, being different is a strength. This has been the driving force behind his music, evidenced by the former XXL Freshman’s do-it-all dynamic. From rage rap, to punk and pop, DC’s swift rise is a testament to his wildly experimental and massively appealing ingenuity. Since delivering his first song “Everything 1K” in 2017, he has ascended from budding next-gen rapper to a burgeoning powerhouse. Following an abrupt halt in his recording career, after DC was unable to resolve a contract dispute, he was hindered from releasing music on streaming platforms for almost two years. Turning adversity into art, he launched his playlist, DC FRIDAYS, and started developing a community and fanbase online. In 2020, DC signed to Rostrum Records, and released his debut album, Come As You Are. He followed that up with 2022’s My Own Worst Enemy, which introduced the masses to DC’s two personas: Donny and Rag3 Kidd. After the loss of his close collaborator and friend, Sad Frosty, DC returned with renewed vigor and a new mindset. And his 2023 album, FUNERAL, personified this meaningful change succinctly. 2024’s SACRED HEART 2 (+) not only catalyzed a massive year for DC, but it also cleared the runway for the June-released EP 2012 – a three-song set that’s striking upon first listen and even better on repeat visits.
