“Salud” is the first release from the album, For The Table, by Sunset Tone and Jay Savage. This song celebrates the excesses of success, with a light and airy beat that sounds like it could have been played by a wedding band, at Jeff Bezos’ wedding. Tone opens the song reminding himself that while he may have the luxury of drinking vintage champagne, he hasn’t forgotten the days of henny. The quirky hook adds some levity to the song before Jay joins in the stroll down memory lane, thinking about lost innocence and combatting the ennui of life after winning the game. The song is layered with both whimsical celebratory lines as well as wistful wishes for simpler times. The album, For the Table, is a Michelin-star meal and this song is fittingly the toast.
