Atlanta rap heavyweight K Camp unleashes his first full-length album of 2025, Built Different, out now via RARE Sound. The 15-song project cements his reputation as a versatile artist, highlighting his powerful voice and ability to blend genres seamlessly.

K Camp describes Built Different as, “2024 wrapped in one album.” He continues, “Every song got a purpose. Throughout all the bullsh*t, we still winning.”

With a chant-like hook forewarning audiences of Camp’s indifference, “BET” is a catchy and irreverent cut that’s peppered with a cucumber-cool delivery. Directed by Bobby Lee Palmer, the video leans on the artsy, minimalistic side of things. As soon as the beat drops, the camera slowly zooms into focus and a black-and-white world opens up. Close ups of the multi-platinum rapper at work pair sleek aesthetics with his signature style and undeniable presence.

The album’s official release isn’t fans’ first taste of Built Different. Last November brought “Consequences,” an emotionally introspective gem that takes a deeper look at life’s light and dark moments. This was followed by the strikingly melodic cadence of “Watch It Fall” and the single’s accompanying visual.

K Camp’s latest offering is a grand return and a moment of celebration for one of hip-hop’s most important and influential artists. From the viral explosion of his breakout hit single “Money Baby” to the anthemic “Cut Her Off,” Camp has gained a loyal fanbase over the span of his wildly successful decade-long career.

In other exciting news, yesterday, K Camp took to social media to announce his new partnership with Virgin Music Group. Teaming up with one of the world’s leading partners to independent artists will amplify the existing work the RARE Sound CEO has already carried out.

Artist Biography:

A breeze of versatile melodies and slyly unaffected cool, K Camp taught an entire generation how to keep it P. Since breaking out with “Money Baby” in 2013, he’s combined flexible vocals with shapeshifting soundscapes to make vibey theme songs for the paperchase, and in the process he’s become one of the most foundational creators in modern Atlanta. He adds to his legacy with “Consequences,” a matter-of-fact new single that serves as both a bop and a state of the union address for his supporters everywhere. Direct and diaristic, it’s a warning shot that’s as piercing as it is honest. And it slaps. Same for every cut on projects like Float 2 London or his afrobeat-inflected Float Island EP, efforts that showcase his penchant for swirling melodious flows with emotional transparency and effortless style. Before he began making his case as an influential hitmaker, K Camp was raised in Atlanta, where local artists began to take over the world. By the early 2010s, he began plotting his own course for global domination, releasing tracks like “Money Baby” and the irresistible 2 Chainz-assisted “Cut Her Off.” From there, he unloaded acclaimed mixtapes and an album as he secured a slot as a 2015 XXL Freshman. In the intervening years, he would only refine and expand his formula — a blueprint for level ups and uncompromising individuality.
