Kicking off what promises to be a bold creative chapter, multi-platinum chart-topping rapper and actor Joey Bada$$ shares his long-awaited new single “Tell Me” (featuring Chlöe) out now via Columbia Records. It notably marks the latest collaboration between Joey and GRAMMY® Award-nominated superstar Chlöe following his appearance in her “Cheatback” music video as well as their time as castmates on Grownish!

Almost exactly a year ago, Joey initially teased the track with a viral Instagram Reel, generating 5 million-plus views, attracting just shy of half-a-million “likes,” and building widespread demand among fans. For the better part of the last year, audiences have clamored for its official release, and he has now delivered after setting the stage for it earlier this week!

On the song, Chlöe’s smooth vocals practically melt into laidback production laced with loose guitar and a simmering beat. Meanwhile, Joey flaunts his versatility, switching up flows and alternating the cadence with lyrical precision. Setting the scene right away, he urges, “Tell me why you in love with me. Is it money or the fame or the fact I’m livin’ in the lap of this luxury?”

Progressing once again, he leans into another side of his sound altogether with “Tell Me” and delivers one of his most slick anthems yet.

It lands in the wake of “Passports & Suitcases” featuring GRAMMY® Award-winning artist/producer KayCyy. Thus far, the latter has amassed millions of streams and earned critical acclaim. HYPEBEAST hailed it as “jet-setting” and “globe-trotting,” and Stereogum attested, “He’s a pretty good singer, and the depth in his voice works nicely here.” In addition to plugs from ESSENCE and more, HotNewHipHop christened it “a thrilling musical collab,” while VIBE applauded it as “a dreamy offering that promotes excursions in the name of leisure and romance, vowing guidance and companionship.”

Passports & Suitcases” landed on the heels of his epic conclusion on STARZ’s original Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

In the immediate future, Joey plans on focusing on releasing new music for his fans.

Artist Biography:

An elite lyricist, thoughtful songwriter, and intense voice for the culture, Joey Bada$$ rose up out of Bed-Stuy and into a level of stardom and acclaim rarely achieved. He has not only emerged as one of the most applauded rappers of this century, but he also appeared in the Academy® Award-winning film Distant Strangers. Following his seminal 1999 mixtape in 2012, he notched back-to-back Top 5 debuts on the Billboard 200 with B4.Da.$$ [2015] and All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ [2017]. Meanwhile, 2022’s 2000 crashed the Top 25. His catalog has yielded the double-platinum “Devastated,” gold-selling “Love Is A Feeling,” and “Temptation,” to name a few. Boasting a stacked guest list with JID, Larry June, Diddy, Capella Gray, and Westside Gunn, it also incited the applause of Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, who observed, “You’ve heard Joey rap like this before, but the scope is plusher, a Bad Boy veneer slathered over corner-bred rhyme schemes.” Simultaneously, he emerged as a bona fide presence across film and television with credits ranging from roles on Mr. Robot and Wu-Tang: An American Saga, to a showstopping turn on Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Giving back, he has staunchly supported various causes as a philanthropist including opening his very own program IMPACT MENTORSHIP — inspired by Unlock Her Potential and Sophia Chang — that provides free mentorship for men of color 18 years and older uplifting both his hometown of New York and the global community, even being honored by Billboard for his impact in the community.
