Consummate rapper and fan favorite IDK returns with a fiery but contained collaborative single, “CLOVER,” featuring duo Joey Valence & Brae. The track follows his recent Tiny Desk performance, which coincided with the announcement of his headlining tour kicking off May 13 in Los Angeles, Calif.

After releasing his critically acclaimed fifth studio album BRAVADO INTiMO and the equally attuned deluxe version, BRAVADO INTiMO… (continued), IDK is back to disrupt the status quo. Staying active and attentive, he delivers a new joint single featuring a hip-hop duo that matches his unbridled machismo. With “CLOVER,” he peels back the layers, honing in on the raw, unfiltered essence of rap—a sound that’s more intentional and focused. Throughout the track, he nods to the experimental spirit of Gorillaz, Madlib, and Nujabes while remaining firmly rooted in hip-hop’s grit.

For both critics and fans alike, “CLOVER” exists in a world that champions boom-bap lore. Right out the gate, a thumping bassline sets the stage for IDK’s verbal barrage of head-spinning rhymes to take form. Joey & Brae follow suit, delivering confidence-boosting bars with unstoppable force. Together, the trio reminds everyone of hip-hop’s golden era with a number that harkens back to the genre’s origins.

As IDK continues to build momentum for his 2025 takeover, he recently announced his headlining tour, “The Imaginary Run” with Sector 202, which will start on May 13 in Los Angeles before making its final stop on May 22 in New York. The 5-stop run will offer a unique opportunity for loyal fans and new listeners alike to experience his artistry in a live performance environment.

“Clover” Lyrics:

Intro: IDK
Oh brother, this guy stinks
La-la-la
La-la-la
La-la-la
Yeah, uh, check

Verse 1: IDK
I’m in the lead, top priority (Yeah)
Fuck with a G, now you finna’ see (Yeah)
Flip over the bed, all you really sleep (Yeah)
You made a year what I made a week (Yeah)
Yes, I got motion, run out of motion, I go get more den
She like the way I smell ’cause the YSL potent
She got a little jealous when she heard who I was strokin’
My last girlfriend ain’t got nothin’ on your throat, friend
Go off
The way she fuck, she such a show off
And I don’t ever ask when it’s time to take her clothes off
She like to let it breathe
She don’t like to wear no drawls
And when she get depressed, treat my dick like Zoloft
You fuck with the fuckin’ best
You fuckin the fuckin’ best
I shoot with protection on but with you I don’t need no vest
I aim for the fuckin’ face
I aim for the fuckin’ chest
She say she make swimwear
That pussy make me invest

Chorus: IDK
Praying for a genie rub
Praying to the stars above
I just wanna fall in love
I just wanna fall in love
Wishing for a four-leaf clove
Praying you’re the pot of gold
Loving you is all I know
Loving you is all I know
(They on my dick, shit)
(They on my dick, shit)

Verse 2: Joey Valence
Post album could get you dead
Gotta keep it goin’, gotta get ahead
Hotel room always got two beds
One for me and one for my bread
This the new bap that take you way back
Giving no slack, my bed is on stacks
Don’t sleep, I got to get my bag on
Oops, I forgot to turn my swag on

Verse 3: Brae
Venue house, slaughter killer
Flow so cold it’s icey, shiver
Punch your jaw, body shot liver
Baddies weak for Brae, huh, quiver
Let me get down to the brass tax
I’m final boss, no printer all fax
You stepped into a disaster
You doomed better pray to the pastor

Chorus: IDK
Praying for a genie rub
Praying to the stars above
I just wanna fall in love
I just wanna fall in love
Wishing for a four-leaf clove
Praying you’re the pot of gold
Loving you is all I know
Loving you is all I know
(They on my dick, shit)
(They on my dick, shit)

Verse 4: IDK
I step in like a X-Man
Make her come back like I’m her ex man
If she don’t make me feel good, well, here’s the exit
If she make me feel good, we can co-exist
Fuck her make her go home
No co-ed shit
Niggas be coming with all bull
I’m a matador
Say they want my soul
I swing the cape dodging devil horns
Used to never want to press play
Here’s a metaphor
Now your boy clicks on my dick like he watching porn
I fucked up after being fucked up
Four leaf clover got stepped on tough luck
‘Nuff said I’m a diamond in the rough nuck buck
But am I good franchise ad-libs?
Yup, yup
In my white tee
She claiming that she wifey
I’m saying what’s your sign?
‘Cause your pussy smell like Pisces
Or like a pescatarian
I’m killing and I’m burying
I treat a rapper beat
Like a baby, I be carryin’

Artist Biography:

IDK has made a career out of problem-solving. Since emerging from PG County in 2015, the DMV artist has used a philosophical streak and musical craftsmanship to decode mysteries of the soul and society. Equal parts artist and professor (literally), IDK, born Jason Mills, is continuing a mission that began a long time ago. He was raised in a middle-class household, but an arrest for armed robbery made him the first person in his family to go to jail. As of seven years ago, he was the first to be a rap star. He unloaded his debut project, Sex, Drugs & Homework, in 2014. In 2017, IDK solidified his knack for pairing trenchant street tales with accessible millennial musings with IWASVERYBAD. From there, IDK only got more introspective. His major debut, Is He Real?, is a contemplation on the existence of God, while his follow-up LP, 2021’s USEE4YOURSELF, unpacks his own trauma as he arrives at new conclusions about his destiny. In 2022, he teamed up with electronic music icon Kaytranada for Simple, an effort that zeroed in on the intricacies of Black plight in his city. And after launching his music business program, No Label Academy, two years ago, now the program takes place annually at Harvard University where IDK is joined by a roster of industry moguls to lead an educational curriculum about the ins and outs of the industry. As we see him today, IDK is cultivating a climate for individuals to absorb the lessons he’s sharing on their own terms. He continued that tradition on F65, a sprawling meditation on materialism, love, and Black manhood. Then, he entered 2024 with renewed vigor and creativity, parlaying that momentum into his critically-acclaimed fifth studio album, BRAVADO INTiMO.
