Following the release of his deeply personal Sleeping With Ghosts EP, Elliot Graves returns with “i still hear you somehow,” a haunting new standalone single about the memories that remain long after a relationship has ended.

Built around atmospheric production, vulnerable songwriting and a soaring melodic hook, “i still hear you somehow” finds Graves in a different emotional place than much of Sleeping With Ghosts. The heartbreak is no longer fresh. The phone has stopped ringing. Life has started moving again.

But some people never disappear completely.

“Every song sounds like your name somehow / even when nobody says it out loud.”

That idea sits at the center of the record: the strange experience of believing you’ve moved on, only for an ordinary street, familiar smell or random song to suddenly bring someone back into the room.

The track moves between intimate, reflective verses and a powerful chorus as Graves wrestles with the small reminders that refuse to disappear.

Rather than trying to erase the past, however, “i still hear you somehow” gradually arrives somewhere more accepting.

By its final moments, the song shifts from longing toward closure — acknowledging that moving forward doesn’t necessarily mean forgetting.

“You’ll always be a chapter in my story / just not the ending anymore.”

ONE MORE SONG BEFORE MOVING FORWARD

“i still hear you somehow” arrives two months after Graves released his four-track EP Sleeping With Ghosts, featuring “drowning in the quiet,” “half of me is missing,” “you don’t call anymore” and “almost over you (but not quite yet).”

Together, those songs documented different stages of heartbreak, absence and the difficult process of letting someone go.

The new single feels almost like an epilogue to that story.

“I wasn’t really planning on releasing another song this soon after the EP,” Graves says. “But this one felt like something I needed to say before moving on. It’s about being okay again, or at least thinking you are, and then something small brings all those memories back.”

While the song shares the emotional DNA of Sleeping With Ghosts, “i still hear you somehow” is not part of the EP or an upcoming project. Instead, it stands alone as a quiet final reflection before Graves begins whatever chapter comes next.

Artist Biography:

Elliot Graves creates emotionally driven alternative hip-hop that blends atmospheric production, melodic vocals and deeply introspective songwriting.

Built around themes of heartbreak, isolation, memory and the things people struggle to say out loud, Graves’ music exists somewhere between alternative hip-hop, emo, dark pop and modern melodic rap.

His 2026 EP Sleeping With Ghosts introduced listeners to that world through four interconnected songs exploring the aftermath of losing someone and learning how to live with the silence they leave behind.

With “i still hear you somehow,” Graves takes one final look backward — before moving forward.
