“Westside Story” Lyrics:
Danny was an only child from the mean streets of Compton
Varsity high school basketball, boys and girls really liked him
He was a rockstar before he was seventeen
He was an all-star when he was twenty-three
A young rebel living the old American dream
But nothing this good is ever really what it seems
Ooh, Danny never made it ’round the bend
I’ve seen this poison take a hold of better men
He took another straight through the head
And then the booker read
Cocaine cowboys
350 Chevys
West Coast outlaws
Pistols on ready
Pistols on ready
Run up and get blessed
350 Chevys
Fastest hands in the west
West Coast outlaws
Danny ain’t the one to test
Pistols on ready
Danny bought a house of cards, packed up and moved to the valley
Dropped out of school and he worked two jobs, breaking the rules for the challenge
He was a rockstar before he was seventeen
He was an all-star when he was twenty-three
A young rebel living the old American dream
But nothing this good is ever really what it seems
Danny never made it ’round the bend
I’ve seen this poison take a hold of better men
He took another straight through the head
And then the booker read
Cocaine cowboys
350 Chevys
West Coast outlaws
Pistols on ready
Pistols on ready
Run up and get blessed
350 Chevys
Fastest hands in the west
West Coast outlaws
Danny ain’t the one to test
Pistols on ready
Cocaine cowboys
Run up and get blessed
350 Chevys
Fastest hands in the west
West Coast outlaws
Danny ain’t the one to test
Pistols on ready
Pistols on ready
