Chance the Rapper and Jeremih are once again leaning into the holiday spirit, reuniting for a surprise Christmas release titled Secret Santa, a five-song EP that continues their long-running seasonal collaboration tradition.
The Chicago natives dropped the project on SoundCloud as a Christmas Eve gift to fans, reviving the festive chemistry that first made their Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama mixtape series a cult favorite. The new EP finds the duo balancing warmth, reflection, and playful holiday flair across a concise tracklist.
The project has several standout tracks, including “Safe With Me,” “I Want What I Want,” “Black Santa,” “Gloria,” and “Bless Them All,” blending soulful melodies with Chance‘s optimistic lyricism and Jeremih‘s signature crooning.
The duo teased the project just hours before it arrived, posting on Instagram to ask fans if they should upload it that night while previewing a snippet of “Safe With Me.” The low-key rollout mirrors the spontaneous energy that has defined their past holiday efforts.
Chance and Jeremih first teamed up for Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama in 2016, followed by Re-Wrapped in 2017 and The Gift That Keeps on Giving in 2020. Jeremih previously explained that the original project came together quickly and organically, sparked by a studio run-in that turned into a full-blown holiday tradition.
The festive mood isn’t stopping with the EP. Chance is set to host a “Day After Christmas AfterParty” in Chicago, with proceeds benefiting his nonprofit SocialWorks, continuing his tradition of tying music releases to community impact.
With Secret Santa, Chance the Rapper and Jeremih prove once again that their holiday collaborations aren’t just seasonal gimmicks.
